DeltaTrak’s Director of Strategic Sales, Robert Bright, presented the FlashTrak Telematics solution and its product emulation capability to the Supply Chain Logistics Council during the United Fresh Midwinter Leadership Forum. This pioneering technology, with mobile and facility applications, gives produce growers, shippers, and receivers the ability to monitor the actual product temperature from harvest through the pre-cooling process, and during transportation and storage.
FlashTrak Telematic’s product emulation solution is an advancement in technology for the produce industry and for anyone concerned with safely transporting and storing perishable foods. It provides a means of accurately tracking the internal temperature of products without the need for probes or cumbersome cables. The product’s emulated temperature is calculated based on the ambient temperatures recorded in the field, inside a pre-cooler, reefer truck, or storage facility.
Actionable data is presented 24/7 in real-time with ColdTrak Data Central, DeltaTrak’s cloud-based service. This data allows for corrective measures to be taken, preempting spoilages. Pre-cooling facilities will increase throughput and save costs on energy by operating their equipment more efficiently.
The presentation was well received by the council members, and recognized as a valuable tool with the potential to improve product quality and cold chain management and logistics practices.
