Job Description

This position shall drive new business development, product/solution development and product life cycle management from concept through commercialization for projects/products/solutions assigned. This position shall have responsibility to assure go-to-market product introductions are effectively achieved. In this role, the position shall also provide sales enablement, go-to-market strategies and programs, market definition and segmentation, establish product positioning, and develop early customer relationships. This is a highly visible position that interacts with all levels of the company. Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Conduct research and investigation into new market opportunities and new solution/product development;
  • Develop and write new business models for new solution/products;
  • Participate in sales strategy development, identify, qualify and build relationships with key suppliers and customers in target markets;
  • Create and develop product definitions, write ECRs (Engineering Change Requests) to specify new product requirements and solution offerings;
  • Conduct research and manage competitive product/solution analysis and positioning;
  • Develop and implement go-to-market programs using marketing department resources;
  • Develop and manage marketing activities for assigned products/solutions;
  • Manage sustaining product management activities for assigned products/solutions throughout the life cycle;
  • Be the public voice of DeltaTrak Inc. at trade events and association meetings for the assigned products/solutions;
  • Use Marketing department resources and skills as assigned;
  • Participate in meetings to understand our business directions, goals and objectives, learn our solutions;
  • Achieve target revenue goals in conjunction with sales for DeltaTrak products and multi region projects in the assigned product area of expertise;
  • Conduct joint sales calls for strategic customer prospects and opportunities;
  • Support inside sales and application engineers, and assist in their training;
  • Support regional sales managers on territory strategy for assigned products;
  • Develop annual product plans for products assigned within the assigned geographic region;
  • Update all product plans annually based on specific actions identified per yearly plan;
  • Manage product pricing strategies and pricing agreements within assigned geography;
  • Own technical specification writing for assigned products and drive technical specification work for assigned product portfolio;
  • Serve as application mentor to customers, channel, inside sales, and application engineering;
  • Responsible for demand creation with channel;
  • Lead product trouble shooting when required to support customer, channel, and sales;
  • Support product literature creation;
  • Identify assigned products total potential for DeltaTrak and update annually;
  • Track all assigned projects or work in conjunction with company’s project manager to ensure all assigned projects are up-to-date weekly;
  • Responsible for providing annual feedback to management team on competitors and market dynamics

Qualifications & Skills Required

Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • BS or greater preferably in Marketing, Business Development or Engineering;
  • Must have demonstrate a strong leadership ability;
  • 7 years mix of business development, technical program management, product management and partner management experience;
  • Experience in presenting to senior management internally and externally;
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer skills;
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to cooperate, work and communicate with all departments of the company in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Previous experience in a job position where Product Marketing was required 95% of the time;
  • Previous experience in a job position where Business Development was required 95% of the time;
  • Ability to handle a high work load and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professional integrity and confidentiality;
  • Requires 15 to 20% travel to meet with end user customers, channel, and sales;
  • Ability to develop account plans and project pursuit strategies for strategic customer prospects and opportunities with minimal guidance from management.
